Book Review: The Book of Life (Book 3 in the All Souls Series) by Deborah Harkness

The Book of Life

The Book of Life is the third and final book in the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness.

Returning from Elizabethan England with renewed purpose and understanding of her powers, historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont reconvene at Sept-Tours, Matthew’s ancestral home in France. Matthew and Diana reunite with friends and family introduced in the previous books and call upon them to embrace their forbidden alliance and their mission to reunite Ashmole 782, a magical manuscript, with its missing pages.

Such a reunion will unleash a truth discovered by witches centuries ago; a truth and power coveted by witches, vampires, and demons alike, and one they are willing to die for.

In 2018, the initial book in the trilogy was adapted by Britain’s Sky One into an 8 part series starring Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode.

Americans can watch Season one of A Discovery of Witches on Amazon Prime Video, Sundance and other channels. Check your cable provider for more information.

Sky One renewed A Discovery of Witches for a second and third series. Shadow of Night, the second book in the trilogy, has been adapted into the second series premiering in early 2021. Check your cable provider for more information. A premiere date for the third series based on The Book Of Life has not yet been released.

So whether you want to escape the winter doldrums with a book or with your television, the All Souls Trilogy will help you achieve your desires.
